Kempton, 1:20pm – Seven race flat card on the all-weather featuring the Listed Floodlit Stakes over 1m 3f (2:50pm) multiple group race winner Western Hymn will bidding to repeat his success in this race from last year. Also on the card is the Class 2 London Middle Distance Series Final Handicap (3:20pm) in which the Roger Charlton trained Ply will be to complete a hat-trick of recent course wins.
Plumpton, 1:40pm – Six race National Hunt Card with field sizes of 9-10-7-8-9 and 8. The card will begin with a Maiden Hurdle over just short of two miles and will end with a Handicap Hurdle for conditional jockeys’ over 2m 4f. Unbeaten in four starts since joining Seamus Mullins, Plantagenet makes its debut over fences in a Class 4 Handicap Chase (2:40pm)
The Emirates Melbourne Cup – the race that stops a nation – will be run at Flemington in Australia at 4am (i.e. early on Tuesday morning)
